Discuss what is involved in getting approval from others like our parents or teachers or husbands or wives.  Why do we need approval?
 

EQ:  Can thee understand, as we have said before, that the world that thee know as Terra is a total illusion?  All that thee consider good and bad is dependent on timing, dependent on perception, dependent on thy own wants and needs, is this not so?

Yes.

This involves the ego?

EQ:  Of course.

And fear?

EQ:  Of course.  So all is an illusion, is this not so?  And the first illusion that thee are led to believe as an absolute is that thy parents, those entities that birthed thee, have only thy welfare at heart, is this not so?  Is this not what thee are told?  And if they are practicing an illusion, and that illusion is that the way to raise thee lovingly is through criticism and denial of thy beauty, and this is what they truly believe is good for thee, then thee grow up believing that thee are not a good thing, is this not so?  But the essence of thyself, thy true soul, that entity that is not the ego, knows that thee are perfect and sends those beliefs to the ego that cannot accept it, because the illusion it has accepted from the two entities that were supposed to be the most important thing in its life was that it was not intrinsically beautiful, it was not intrinsically good.  So for this being to begin to believe in what its soul is telling it, it must first get those beings to accept it.  And when this stops being a possibility, it will reach out to find others that will, but those that do it easily, the ego will never accept the truth of, because they are living the illusion of the original sin, the sin of being told that they are not perfect.

So there is no need for approval.  Your approval is within yourself?

EQ:  It is more than that, for dost thou not believe that thee are part of God, the Source?

Yes.

EQ:  Is the Source in any way defective?

No.

EQ:  Then how can thee be?  Intrinsically thee are beauteous; thee are perfect.

Because we possess an ego?

EQ:  The ego is what confuses things.  The ego is what believes it is all that is, dost thou understand?  The ego thinks the experience it is having right now is the only thing that is.

So if we are a part of the Source, but we have ego, then ego is part of the physical body?

EQ:  Yes.

Isn’t it part of the mental too?

EQ:  Mental and physical within Terra are pretty much the same thing.  There be spiritual or soul bodies, physical and mental bodies, dost thou understand?  The soul body knows of the connection with all that is.  The soul knows that this is an illusion; that thee are living in a play, and this is a role, which is the ego.  The soul, knowing all the roles that the ego has played, and assuming the roles that it shall play in the future, realizes that the things that are so upsetting to the ego are transient, meaningless in the scheme of all.  It is just another experience to bring knowledge.

However, very few Terrans have succeeded in letting ego go.

EQ:  True.

What is the way, or is there a way to let it go?

EQ:  It is impossible to be in physical and not have ego.  But what is possible is to recognize that these things that thee are experiencing are transitory.  That what thee think are so life threatening to thee this moment, in two more minutes will be gone.  Dos thou understand?  How many entities have had a love in their life that they felt that if they lost this love, they could not exist?

A hundred and one times.

EQ:  And each time, thee continue to exist and find that absolute love.  This is the truth of it: that everything that thee think is deal-breaking, life-threatening, imminently the worst, somehow passes on and something else takes its place.  And even when thee hits the worst, which to many is death, it is just a moving on again to a differing experience, one that is greatly different and often much better than what is thy life.  But the ego wants to hold on to the illusion and believe that every second of pain must be held on to.

Then in each instance like that, if we recognize that it is ego speaking, and at least we are aware of it, and that might somehow cure the situation, wouldn’t it be somehow the same as being indifferent?

EQ:  No.  Thee can experience what is happening and let it go, dost thou understand?  We are not saying that it is even humanly possible to be completely apathetic.  There will always be something that perks thee, dost thou understand?  But it is important to understand that all there really is is this moment.  If thee are living in time - which thee do on Terra - then all thee really have is this moment, for the tomorrows are not yet birthed, and the past is only memories.  Thee can choose to use those memories to continue to do damage and create terrible tomorrows, or thee can enjoy the now, knowing that it is all illusion anyway, and thee can create interesting other illusions, dost thou understand?  Every day of thy lives thee are jumping down the rabbit hole, and, as Alice did, it is all perception as to what is going on, dost thou understand?  It is all but a dream, to some a nightmare.  Now when we speak of this, we are not speaking of entities that truly have mental disturbances where their illusions are totally out of their control.  Dost thou understand this?  We speak of what thee would classify as normal - even though we do not believe that word exists.
