Why do Terrans have trouble recognizing their connectedness?

EQ:  Culturally, thee have been taught to be separate.  Thee are given so many messages about independence and at the same time put down when thee are different than the norm, is this not so?  So that many of thee always feel different from the norm.  Instead of realizing the similarities between each other, thee are taught to see the differences, is this not so?  Thy houses are built to separate; neighbors do not know one another.  This is based on fear.  In the past, when entities were dependent upon one another, it was easier to feel the linkage but it also made them feel vulnerable, is this no so?  As thee became more in fear, then they began to lose more and more the ability to see the connectedness.  When thee finally get to the point that thee need each other again the fear will disappear, thee will not care if thee are vulnerable - for it will mean survival - and then thee will reconnect - if thee do not do it consciously.
